Knee replacement is a great surgery – I can understand the complaints some have, but mine is great. Sure, there’s a bit of occasional pain – but the old knee was constant and intense pain. It doesn’t feel quite right – but when the old one collapsed on me, I wound up with 6 grand worth of dental repairs – an expense that had me considering Chinese choppers.

It’s a very early Spring, and I can get out and walk again – I don’t try to save irritations to the knee to get to walk 150 yards every third day. I can get on the exercise bike – and may try to reclaim the old 3-speed this summer.

My expectations have been exceeded. By the third week, I was getting around better. At six months, there are still times when I haven’t adjusted to the new normal – but when I recollect how bad the old normal was, I am absolutely pleased with the results.
