It is the 14th of February. My lifting limit after hernia surgery is now in the past – I shall start puttering again. It was interesting – at almost any time since 1990, I could have returned to work, because my work did not include lifting. As a retired old guy, there are a lot of things that need lifting – it has been an inconvenience. Today I return to full duty as a retired old guy.

Still, there are other reasons to notice the 14th. Instead of stressing Valentines, let me share a copy of the patent document for the Model 1911:

Then there is always St. Valentine – patron saint of epileptics and beekeepers. It is a day of many cards – but I never saw a Valentines Day card stressing either epilepsy or beekeeping. Anyway, today Valentine’s Day coincides with good news for me.
