Not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever.
I will never bow my head because I fly an American flag.
I will never whisper my gratitude for those who fought, bled, and died so that I could speak freely.
I will never be ashamed to stand for the National Anthem or place my hand over my heart when Old Glory passes by.
This Republic was not handed to us wrapped in comfort.
It was forged by men and women who risked everything for the radical idea that liberty was worth more than safety, that freedom was worth more than convenience, and that self-government demanded self-sacrifice.
Every generation has been called to decide whether they will preserve freedom or slowly trade it away for the illusion of security.
I know where I stand.
I stand with the Constitution.
I stand with those who defend our borders, our communities, and our God-given rights.
I stand with the families teaching their children that freedom isn’t free, that character still matters, and that personal responsibility isn’t an outdated idea.
I stand with every veteran who carried the weight of this nation on their shoulders, every first responder who answers the call, every rancher, logger, miner, trucker, farmer, small business owner, and every American who gets up before daylight to build something bigger than themselves.
This flag has draped coffins.
It has flown over battlefields, disaster zones, moon landings, schools, churches, family farms, and front porches.
It has survived wars, division, hardship, and every prediction of America’s downfall.
And it is still flying.
So if loving this country makes me old-fashioned…
Good.
If believing in liberty makes me stubborn…
Good.
If defending the Constitution makes me unpopular…
Good.
Because freedom has never been preserved by people willing to stay quiet.
Today I celebrate not just our independence, but my responsibility to protect it.
Happy Independence Day.
May we prove ourselves worthy of the inheritance we’ve been given.
God bless America.
