Fox News recently continued a poll on US attitudes toward socialism. Over the past 17 years, the chart shows that the percentage of Americans who think moving toward socialism would be a good thing has moved from 23% in January of 2009 to 38% in March of 2026.
As always, the poll just shows how people answered the question. My tendency is to regard 60% and 61% numbers regarding socialism as a bad thing as indicating the ideas of wealth taxes will be a long while before they gain majority support – but this is a snapshot of life worth examining.
