This may be just a strange coincidence. Still, it was weird seeing Chinese views of the Mountain Ear climbing past US views – the idea of having more readers in Beijing than Montana just seemed a bit strange.

Did Ukraine’s drone strikes on Yandex data centers silence Russian bots? | Mashable – click the link if you want – here’s the quote that intrigues the heck out of me: “Russia’s army of bots is apparently offline. At least, that’s according to chatter on social media and even Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Over the past week, Ukrainian drones struck three data centers belonging to Yandex, the tech giant often called “Russia’s Google.” The first strike happened on Oct. 8, followed by a second attack on Oct. 9. On Sunday, Oct. 11, a third strike damaged a Yandex data center in the Vladimir region, east of Moscow. The company said operations at that facility were completely suspended and some of its services were unavailable, according to the BBC.”

Okay – our views were listed as China – but I figure that a Russian cyber-expert could probably spoof in a Chinese address. I don’t know enough about it – but it looks like Zelenskyy may have reduced our Beijing readership.
